The preliminary exam for All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) was held across the country on April 3, 2011. Considered as one of the toughest entrance exams of the country and a gateway to prestigious medical institutes, AIPMT prelims is based on Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pattern.
Over two lakh students took the AIPMT preliminary exam on Sunday across the country. According to many state board students, this year AIPMT 2011 was tough and many did not attempt questions for the fear of negative marking. Some questions were tricky and required lot of time in thinking and answering correctly.
Results for the AIPMT prelims would be declared by third week of April and successful students would be issued a new admit card for the main exam. The AIPMT finals will be held on May 15, 2011 and the result for the same will be declared by June first week. As per the AIPMT website, the entrance exams are being held only for the 15 per cent all-India seats in colleges.
Delhi saw about 30,000 students appearing for one of the biggest pan-India exam for aspiring doctors. Jaipur will have around 19,500 candidates, while Mumbai will have 11,254 students. Around 5,852 candidates have registered for the test from Bangalore.
