CBSE conducts All India Pre-Medical/Pre Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) to select candidates for 15% merit positions in medical and dental colleges all over India, as specified in the directive of the Supreme Court.
Every year around 2,00,000 students appear in this examination. But only 1% of students become successful to get admissions. Nearly 2000 seats are available from all India Medical & Dental colleges. The students selected through AIPMT will secure admission to these seats, overriding State-specific selection criteria.
